Taybl Tickets vs Eventbrite, Ticket Tailor and Tonic

We’re up-front about how we compare with other ticketing platforms, so you can compare fees and features below. The big difference is that Taybl Tickets is built into your restaurant system, so tickets, tables, meals and your kitchen all work from one place. If there’s a feature you need but don’t see, drop us a message and we’ll try to help!

Features
Taybl Fee per paid ticket £0.70 + VAT
Eventbrite Fee per paid ticket 6.95% + 59p 1
Ticket Tailor Fee per paid ticket 60p + VAT 1
Tonic Ticketing Fee per paid ticket 6% to 10% 1
Pricing and terms
A fixed monthly charge just to sell tickets. None of the four charge one: Taybl ticketing is included for every Taybl customer, and the others take a fee per ticket instead.
Taybl is a flat £0.70 + VAT per paid ticket, whatever the ticket price. Eventbrite is 6.95% plus 59p. Ticket Tailor is 60p + VAT on pay as you go, falling to 22p + VAT with prepaid credits, but assigned-seat tickets use two credits. Tonic is 10% under £40, 8% from £40 to £69.99 and 6% from £70.
Taybl and Ticket Tailor pass the payment provider's processing fee through separately. Eventbrite and Tonic include it in their headline fee, so compare like with like.
When you refund a ticket, or cancel the whole event, Taybl returns its fee for each refunded ticket. The payment provider's processing fee is not returned. The other three don't state their policy publicly.
Whether you pay to issue tickets that cost the guest nothing.
Taybl payments go straight to your own Stripe account as tickets sell, and payout timing is then set by Stripe. Eventbrite pays out after the event has finished.
Selling tickets
A ticket widget in your own colours, embedded on your own website, with a hosted event page as a fallback.
A public listing that finds you new buyers. Eventbrite runs one. Taybl is adding discovery, and events will still sell through your own site and links, so your guests stay yours. Ticket Tailor has no marketplace.
Promotional codes at checkout.
Seating and service
Choose seated at tables and the event uses the areas and tables you pick. Eventbrite and Ticket Tailor offer reserved seating on generic seat maps. Tonic can allocate tables only when used with Access Collins. Prefer simple tickets? Taybl also sells against a plain total number of places, with no floor plan needed.
Published seated dates hold the tables they need, plus set-up and clear-down time you set, so a restaurant booking can't take them. Taybl warns you about any booking already in the way before you publish.
Taybl allocates a table at the moment of sale, combining tables where your join rules allow. Buyers never pick a table, which keeps your layout flexible.
Move any party to another table on the night, or lock it in place.
Food and kitchen
Attach a menu to a date and set a cutoff. Each guest picks a dish for every course from their own link or the order page. Tonic can upsell food and drink as add-ons. Meal choices need Taybl Bookings to be active.
Taybl dishes carry their allergens, so a clash with what a guest can't eat is flagged. Eventbrite and Ticket Tailor can ask a free-text question at checkout, but don't connect it to a menu.
Totals per dish, a printable pack and a CSV for the kitchen.
Ask per ticket or per order, required or optional. In Taybl the answers show at the door, in the kitchen, on the seating board and on the order, each only where you choose, and are kept with the wording the guest saw.
Door and guests
Scan tickets on the night. Taybl scanning is in the staff app, and door staff can be given scanning only, without access to financial or unrelated guest data.
A scanner-only role in Taybl can admit guests but can't see refunds, reports or unrelated guest details.
One screen for the night: tickets sold and admitted, guests still to arrive, arrivals through the evening, party and table status, and outstanding meal choices, kept up to date as staff scan. Eventbrite and Ticket Tailor show sales and attendance reports, but not tables, meals or the kitchen alongside them.
Enter your costs, such as entertainers and equipment, and see a break-even ticket count before and during sales. Staff wages come from the shifts you tag to the event in your rota. You then see what the event actually contributed once ticket money, the Taybl fee and refunds are counted. Costs you haven't entered are listed as missing, and it is never presented as profit.
The unified-system advantage 2
Taybl ticket scanning lives in the same staff app your team already use to clock in, check in guests and manage food safety. There is nothing extra to install, sign into or train people on, and the same permissions decide who can scan. Eventbrite, Ticket Tailor and Tonic each use a separate scanning app.
Ticket meal choices appear alongside booking pre-orders on the pack your kitchen already works from, with no re-keying and no separate spreadsheet.
Build your menu once and it feeds the ticket meal choices, the website menu widget and the recipe cards. Change a price in one place.
A ticket buyer and a diner are the same person in your guest database, so repeat visits, notes and allergies follow them across bookings and events. Tonic can share data with Access Collins or Acteol through an integration.
One set of tables and one calendar, so a sold event and an ordinary Friday booking can never fight over the same table.
  1. 1 Fees are per paid ticket as published by each vendor in September 2026. Eventbrite and Tonic include card processing in their fee; Taybl and Ticket Tailor pass the payment provider’s processing fee through separately. Ticket Tailor is shown at its pay-as-you-go rate, and its assigned-seat tickets use two credits. Tonic’s rate depends on ticket price. “Not stated” means the vendor doesn’t say either way on its public pages, not that the feature is missing.
  2. 2 Tonic integrates with Access Collins and Acteol, and other platforms can connect to restaurant tools by API. In Taybl these links are native, with nothing to configure.
